How a Fractional CMO Can Help You Grow
After working with Kids In Need Foundation to rebrand the organization and design logos for their programs in 2020, the organization asked Joy to serve as a fractional CMO while their marketing director was on maternity leave in 2021. As they said when they reached out, “You know our organization’s brand as well as anyone, so you were the obvious choice!”
During this 6-month partnership, Joy managed external communications and marketing. Some of the projects included a half-day strategy session, event promotion through emails and social media, scripting and managing a new video, directing and optimizing weekly newsletters, and maintaining their social media. She also worked with senior leaders to identify that the organization was ready for a full-time strategic marketing and communications leader at the end of 2021.
Working with this organization gave our team a birds-eye view into the state of public education in the USA right now. Two years in to the COVID-19 pandemic, this system is at its breaking point. Teachers and administrators are leaving the field, and resources are stretched even more thinly (we’re hearing schools asking their maintenance crews to drive school buses and administrators to sub in classrooms). Organizations like KINF are working hard to provide practical support to teachers and students while recognizing that these challenges have roots in much deeper issues.
Joy’s work as fractional CMO bridged a major transition within the organization, as they were ready to create a separate Marketing and Communications team at the end of 2021. This is another way fractional CMOs can support your business. If you need high-level strategic marketing to help you grow but aren’t large enough to support a full-time executive, schedule a call with Joy to learn more.
